OVERVIEW OF SERVICES

Medical social services professionals help patients, their family members and significant others cope with the social, psychological, cultural and medical issues resulting from an illness. They assure that patients’ medically related emotional and social needs are met and maintained throughout their treatment.

• Newborn through elderly patients are assessed for needs, and resource referrals are made to smooth the transition to continued care with community programs
• Information and assistance with Advanced Directives is offered
• Hospice information and referrals are provided
