Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories

O'Connor's two cardiac catheterization laboratories feature state-of-the-art technology for treatment of heart disease. Some procedures include:

  • Angioplasty
A technique used to widen the narrowing in your artery without surgery
  • Atherectomy
A procedure done to remove plaque from your arteries
  • Intercoronary stenting
To improve blood flow, a stent is inserted into your blood vessel on a balloon catheter. The balloon is inflated, which causes the stent to expand and hold the blood vessel open. The stent is permanent.
  • Rotoblation
Similar to other atherectomy procedures, rotoblation is another way to remove plaque and obstruction from the arteries.
  • Intracoronary infusion of thrombolytics
    The administering of "clot-busting" medications
  • Ablation
A non-surgical technique that destroys (ablates) parts of the abnormal electrical pathway that is causing your abnormal heart rhythm or arrhythmia.
  • Tilt Table Test
Determines how your body responds to changes in position while your symptoms, heart rate, and blood pressure are continuously monitored. Often used on patients with recurring fainting spells.
