Whether coping with an old injury or facing a new trauma, orthopedic patients at O’Connor Hospital benefit from excellent and compassionate care designed to get you back on your feet. Our board certified physicians and staff use cutting-edge technology to provide rehabilitative services that help restore quality of life for patients in some of the direst situations.

O’Connor Hospital met the rigorous guidelines set by The Joint Commission and received Center of Excellence designation in Hip Replacement and Knee Replacement.

The program’s physician specialists, nurses and therapists care for patients who are experiencing orthopedic problems related to bones and joints, such as their hips and knees. They also provide expert treatment for patients suffering from spinal injuries or neurological and brain disorders, including tumors and aneurysms. Physical therapists on the unit help patients regain the ability to move and function.

For many patients, surgery is often the first step in a long process of rehabilitation and restoring quality of life.

  • Spine patients might need surgery and physical therapy to help them sit, stand or walk again.
  • A neurological patient may need brain surgery followed by physical therapy to relearn how to talk, walk, eat or perform other activities of daily living.
  • For orthopedic patients, this may mean hip or knee replacement surgery followed by physical therapy to help them move and walk less painfully. O’Connor Hospital orthopedic surgeons now offer computer-assisted, minimally invasive joint replacement surgery using the sophisticated Stryker Navigational System.

This allows the operating room staff to safely and efficiently rotate patients during delicate spinal procedures.
