O'Connor Hospital has been providing high quality health care to residents in Santa Clara Valley for 120 years. Since 1952, the O'Connor volunteers have been part of this outstanding tradition, bringing comfort and care to patients, families, and loved ones. O’Connor volunteers have donated over two million hours of service since 1952. As our tagline states, "It's the Way We Care."
Volunteers work in a variety of areas in the hospital and clinic setting including the hospital gift shop. Volunteers support the Daughters of Charity mission by providing exceptionally friendly service to enhance the care we provide. The average volunteer donates four hours of service per week to a regular schedule. They are interviewed to determine suitability for our program. There is a background check (required for adults only), medical clearance process, orientation and training. We do require a minimum of a six-month commitment.
Adult Volunteers: We appreciate your interest in O’Connor Hospital. At this time, we have limited openings due to a generous response in our community to donate service. Once a placement is made, applicants are required to complete a pre-employment background check, drug screen, health clearance, orientation and training. Application (PDF)
